Fifty years ago this December we moved to this town, no friends, acquaintenances, just a new job for my husband and a tiny baby. It was so near Christmas that we didn't "bother" with a tree. Now, of course, that baby is grown with grown children of her own and I am once again tempted to not "bother" with a tree. But, then I remember that cold, desolate Christmas in 1959, so I'll be trimming the tree tonight, even though it will be a small one.

I couldn't help but giggle as I read this post and think, wow...where do I start? Lol

My slightly imperfect Christmas reality is that we can't go all out this year with decorations. Yes we would love to have a fabolous spread that would make Martha Stewart jealous, but that is just not the reality with the way the current budget is right now,but we are SO thankful that we do have our families and a home over our head this year and every year.

I really wanted to do more with outdoor Christmas decorations that would wow everyone, and indoors have a spread that would make Martha Stewart, okay, nothing will compete what she could do...forget that part. LOL

This is probrably going to be our best Christmas however, I think or at least one of many best Christmases in memory. We will have the memory of snow; Family; Good Friends and a reminder of the center of it all, Him.
